Introducing the all-new Audi A2 e-tron!
Audi has brought back the A2, and it’s set to replace the Audi A1 and Audi Q2!
The question is: can this all-new Audi live up to the reputation of the original A2? And does it offer enough appeal over competitors like the Kia EV3 and Volvo EX30? Let’s take a closer look, starting with the design…
Just like the original A2, the new model is relatively aerodynamic. Up front there’s a large, smooth panel that houses all of the safety driving features, and there are vents on either side of this to help smooth airflow around the car. There’s also a vent within the front bumper which can close to further help aero. Along the side you’ll find door handles similar to those on a Ferrari Purosangue, as well as more vents around the wheels and aero alloy wheels. Around the back, the similarities to the old car continue, along with large swooping taillights, a smart (and thin) Audi badge, coupled with a fake diffuser.
On the inside, the main feature is the same swooping digital dial & infotainment screen - the same as found in any new Audi in 2026. Generally, materials are ok higher up in the cabin, with some cheaper plastics found when you reach lower down - although that’s to be expected with a car at this price point. Storage is ok throughout, and the seats are comfortable, with sports seats and Alcantara material available should you want it. The cupholder positioning can be moved, and there are buttons to open the door rather than traditional handles.
The new Audi A2 e-tron will be available with 52, 61 and 84kWh battery packs. The entry-level car comes with 170hp & 350Nm, rising all the way to 326hp and 545Nm for the top-of-the-range model. The A2 offers ranges of 262 through to 401 miles, depending on which model you choose.
The Audi A2 e-tron starts from £32,200, rising all the way up to £45,000 for the top-of-the-range model. This puts it slightly cheaper than the list price of its key competitors, but would you choose it over a Kia EV3 or Volvo EX30? Let us know in the comments!
