Shabir Ahmed: 55-year-old law saves grooming gang leader from deportation

The ringleader of a Rochdale grooming gang who targeted girls as young as 12, has been released from prison, despite promises he'd be deported to Pakistan.
The government says the Home Secretary is looking at ways to deport Shabir Ahmed, who was jailed for 22 years back in 2012 for 30 charges of child rape across trials.

His gang raped and abused girls in and around Rochdale.
A dual-national born in Pakistan, Ahmed was stripped of his British citizenship, but the government says the Immigration Act means he can't be deported.
