King Charles is due to begin his four-day visit to the United States later today, with Donald Trump saying he will "be very safe" following the shooting at an event attended by the U.S. president on Saturday night.

Charles and Camilla will be undertaking the first British state visit since 2007 to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence and strengthening the ‘special’ UK-US relationship, which has been under serious strain in recent months.
The visit is the most important foreign trip of the King’s reign so far.
