Tornado Alley is where warm, moist Gulf air, cooler dry air from the Rockies, and the jet stream combine to produce some of the Great Plains’ most severe weather. Across Oklahoma and Texas, storm chaser George Kourounis joins experienced teams tracking thunderstorms, large hail, tornado warnings, and the changing conditions that can lead to tornado formation.
The chase depends on timing, forecasting, and constant repositioning as storms develop across open country. Along the way, the film reveals the practical realities of storm chasing: long waits, sudden decisions, dangerous hail, and the challenge of getting close enough to observe extreme weather without losing control of the situation.
