Why were there deadly clashes in Pakistan-administered Kashmir?
At least seven people have been killed and dozens injured in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
An outlawed group, the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) clashed with police after the Supreme Court ruled that 12 legislative seats for Kashmiri refugees are constitutionally protected.
The seats are controversial because they’re for people who’ve migrated from Indian-controlled Kashmir to other areas of Pakistan.
Abolishing the seats was one of the JAAC’s remaining demands after the government accepted 36 of their 38 demands last year.
The landmark decision comes ahead of assembly elections next month.
