Washington has indicted Cuba's former president Raul Castro over the downing of two American planes thirty years ago.
In reaction to this, a group of ​Democratic U.S. senators introduced a resolution to stop President Donald Trump from using the ‌military against Cuba. They have introduced a War Powers ​Resolution to block the use of the U.S. armed forces against the Communist-ruled ​island.
The relationship between the two countries has become increasingly fraught over the past few months, due to an ongoing US oil blockade, resulting in even more severe shortages and blackouts. Today, the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, called on the Cubans to make a deal with Trump.
