Watch Next: How to Throw a Punch in a Fight
https://youtu.be/QMxN1BSbTJU
Use these 3 techniques to end a street fight against someone bigger than you in seconds, and you don't need any martial arts experience to pull them off. Tony Jeffries, Olympic medalist boxer is clear that avoiding the fight and getting to safety always comes first but once someone bigger has already forced the moment, these three techniques give you a real way out.
3 Ways To Beat A Bigger Opponent:
Technique 1: The Sneaky Takedown - Put your hands up and create space, then step your dominant foot back to stay balanced no matter what he does next. Telling him you don't want to fight catches him off guard. Push off your back foot, bend your knees, and drive your shoulder forward with your hands behind his knees. It is almost impossible for him to stay standing and you can get away safely from there.
Technique 2: The Headbutt Escape - Step back slightly with your back foot while staying in range then lean your head back before driving forward using the recoil from your legs. Landing this on the nose creates a genuine shock since nobody expects it right after you've said you don't want to fight. This creates enough of an opening to get away or to follow up with a punch if you know how to throw one.
Technique 3: The Power Punch - This punch alone could end the fight in a single hit and it works even better if he is moving toward you since his own momentum adds to the impact. Turn your hips, fully extend your arm, and drive it straight into the solar plexus or the chin. Setting up in a proper stance first, hands tight and dominant foot back, is what makes this punch actually land with power.
