Pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly wants deal to bring Mounjaro to Australia under PBS | 7.30

They're the wonder drugs of our age - the GLP-1 inhibitors like Ozempic and Mounjaro - that have revolutionised the treatment of diabetes and obesity worldwide.
Earlier this year the manufacturer of one of those drugs - Mounjaro owner Eli Lilly - walked away from negotiations with Australia's PBS, claiming Australia wasn't offering enough money.
According to Eli Lilly, the PBS is the problem - out of step with modern drug development.
But also part of the story: a Donald Trump executive order forcing US pharmaceutical companies to offer the same price on prescription drugs to Americans as consumers pay in countries like Australia.
