‘Insidious money grab’: Aspiring candidate slams One Nation
One Nation will face its next big test at the Victorian election in November.
Four Corners spoke to six would-be candidates who described the preselection process as chaotic.
Former Liberal National MP Aidan McLindon said he was approached to be part of the leadership team in Victoria.
Each would-be candidate was charged $150 to apply, and another $5,500 if successful.
He said candidates were not told about the additional $5,500 fee until the end of their interview.
“What we're seeing here is a bit of an insidious money grab,” McLindon told Four Corners.
