Elly and Charlie set out to create a tiny home that felt completely their own. The result is a wonderfully unconventional curved tiny house in New South Wales, Australia, filled with warm timber, artistic finishes and exceptional custom details. From the sculptural staircase and sweeping ceiling lines to the incredible Venetian plaster splashback, there is something interesting to discover in every part of this design.
The layout is unusual too. The toilet, shower and laundry are housed in a separate amenities building, freeing up more room inside the tiny house for the kitchen, lounge and sleeping loft. The kitchen is especially generous, which makes sense given Charlie’s background in hospitality and her training as a chef.
A large covered deck extends the living space outdoors, while solar power, tank water, an outdoor shower and productive gardens all form part of Elly and Charlie’s off-grid lifestyle. Their daughter Harmony also has her own renovated caravan on the property, giving her a separate space while keeping the family closely connected.
Beyond the bold tiny house design, this is also a story about creating a home that supports the life you actually want to live. For Elly and Charlie, that means spending more time in nature, reducing their living costs and having greater freedom to focus on the things that matter to them.
