She Built a Tiny Home So Beautiful She Never Wants to Leave
After leaving city life behind, Joanne sold her Sydney apartment, became debt-free, and built a tiny home so beautiful she never wants to leave.
Nestled in the stunning Blue Mountains, this tiny house is surrounded by magical gardens, tree ferns, rescue animals, chickens, goats and peaceful forest views. For Joanne, this home represents so much more than downsizing. After walking the Camino de Santiago and later dealing with a life-changing workplace injury, she began rethinking what she truly needed from life, home and happiness.
With the support of her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne was able to create a mortgage-free tiny home on family land, giving her a fresh start, financial freedom and a deep sense of peace.
Her tiny house has been beautifully designed for comfort, practicality and future-proof living. Inside, there’s a full-size kitchen for baking and cooking, a spacious bathroom with a luxurious bathtub looking out into the garden, a clever loft bedroom, mudroom, laundry, plenty of storage and even a separate cosy living pod with a wood fire. That second pod also gives Joanne flexibility for the future, as it could one day become a downstairs bedroom if needed.
This tiny home tour is a beautiful example of simple living, debt-free living, thoughtful small space design and creating a home that truly supports the life you want to live.
We hope you enjoy the tour of this very special tiny home.
