John Hinckley Jr., the man who tried to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981 as an attempt to get the attention of actor Jodie Foster, is now speaking out in a new podcast interview. In the nearly hour-long interview on “The Mark Joseph Show,” Hinckley says he had been experiencing depression and delusion at the time he carried out the shooting. He also gave a glimpse into his life now and offered a message to Jodie Foster. NBC’s Stephanie Gosk reports for TODAY.
