Will the US and Iran make a deal (again)? | If You're Listening

In 2015, Iran and the United States struck a deal to freeze Tehran’s nuclear program. It was imperfect, but for a time, it held. One of its loudest critics was Donald Trump. When he became president, he tore it up, branding it “a terrible deal that should never have been made.” Now, the two sides are circling each other again.
Years of bluffs, sanctions, and escalations followed, but little in the way of lasting leverage. Iran’s nuclear program has advanced, and trust between the two nations has evaporated. Trump insists he can broker a better deal this time, but we’re not holding our breath.
