Congressional leaders unveiled the America250 time capsule on June 24 as part of preparations for the nation's upcoming 250th anniversary. The capsule will feature contributions from all 50 states and U.S. territories and is scheduled to be buried in Philadelphia on July 4. Lawmakers said it is intended to capture modern American life and will remain sealed for the next 250 years, echoing a similar capsule created during the country's 1876 centennial celebration.
