A US citizen, Ricardo Gonzalez, was hospitalized after allegedly suffering a broken arm during an encounter with ICE agents in Long Beach, California, on October 17. Video footage reportedly shows officers pinning Gonzalez to the ground as he screams that his arm is broken. The Long Beach Police Department said its officers were not involved in immigration enforcement and transported the handcuffed man to receive medical care. The incident drew criticism from local officials, while federal prosecutors defended the agents’ actions.
