Marguerite Humeau – “I’m trying to create new mythologies for our contemporary era”
Artist Marguerite Humeau creates speculative worlds that explore what might exist beyond the limits of human experience.
Drawing on sculpture, mythology and different forms of knowledge, Humeau reflects on an enduring fascination with transcendence and the connections between humans, landscapes and other forms of life. Working with foragers, clairvoyants and geomancers, and creating landscapes such as a forest installation in Norway, she asks how new mythologies might help us imagine our place within a much wider web of life.
