Gen Z protestors had a major win in India last week when they successfully forced one of Prime Minister Modi’s top advisors to resign. Driven by frustration over corruption, unemployment, and India’s education system, the Cockroach Janta Party (or the Cockroach People’s Party) is a satirical internet-fueled movement with real power.
But their recent success has already driven Modi’s government to engage in more censorship and silencing of dissent. So what will the legacy of the Cockroach Janta Party be?
