My name is Cherilyn Burgo. I have been with Cox Communications for over 20 years and currently work as a Technical Analyst in Intelligent Automation, a role I’ve held since 2019.
I have a background in arts and sciences, along with a degree in telecommunications. Over the years, I have also gained extensive experience in customer service and business operations before transitioning into the technology space. Recently, I completed a certification in Generative AI for Business Transformation, along with additional certifications and a Green Belt.
One of the main challenges was navigating different AI applications required during the program. Some tools required sign-ups and free trials, which made it slightly inconvenient to manage multiple platforms and subscriptions.
However, I adapted by using alternative tools like Copilot and similar applications to complete my projects effectively.
I recognized the need to upskill as automation and generative AI started becoming more integrated into my daily work. I had already begun exploring these tools on my own to improve efficiency, and I realized formal learning would help me deepen my understanding.
I discovered the program through my company’s tuition reimbursement and learning catalog. While exploring options that aligned with my role and career growth, I came across the program offered through Simplilearn.
The learning experience was very positive. The instructors were knowledgeable and transparent, and even substitute trainers brought valuable perspectives.
I particularly enjoyed learning about Copilot and data analytics, which added significant value to my existing skill set. The course helped me understand how to better integrate AI tools into my daily work.
