Newly released video from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan shows an undercover detective standing in for a 79-year-old widow during a May 1 sting operation targeting an alleged $700,000 gold scam. Deputies arrested a suspect who investigators say arrived to collect the coins, in what authorities describe as part of a growing nationwide scheme targeting elderly victims. The suspect was booked into the county jail on a $100,000 bond and placed under an ICE detainer.
