Republicans ERUPT as Mike Johnson Floats Trump’s Post-Presidency Plan
Audience members at the GOP midterm convention erupted in applause after House Speaker Mike Johnson joked that President Trump could run for Congress after departing the White House.
Johnson began by describing a brass plate in the US Capitol dedicated to John Quincy Adams. "He's the only person in the history of the United States who ran for the House after serving as president. Maybe our president would do that," he quipped. But the speaker then batted it down, arguing that Trump is "going to be too busy."
