Bail Set for Indicted ICE Agent Accused of Cover-Up
Federal immigration officer Christian Castro was granted bond by a Minnesota judge following his arrest on state assault and false reporting charges related to the non-fatal shooting of a Venezuelan man in January. Castro, who faces both state and federal charges for allegedly shooting Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis and lying to investigators during an immigration crackdown, had his bail set at $400,000 without conditions and $200,000 with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in federal court on September 18 to address the separate federal charges, where his defense has indicated he plans to plead not guilty.
