New York City police arrested about 100 people after more than 300 anti-war demonstrators staged a sit-in outside the Manhattan offices of Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, urging them to support a Senate vote aimed at blocking additional U.S. weapons sales to Israel. Protesters gathered in Midtown wearing shirts and holding signs with messages such as “Fund Healthcare Not Warfare” and “Stop Arming Israel,” before blocking nearby streets, where police issued repeated dispersal warnings. Officers later made mass arrests after demonstrators refused to leave the roadway.
