One of the most acclaimed pianists of today, Angela Hewitt inaugurated her own music festival in the heart of Italy in 2005 – The Trasimeno Music Festival. Under Hewitt’s discerning direction, the festival stages concerts in magical settings around the hill-clasped lake, including the spectacular Castle of the Knights of Malta, in nearby Magione.
On the stage of the Sydney City Recital Hall, Academy Travel's Dr Lauren Mackay caught up with Angela to discuss what inspired her to create this festival, how the repertoire is selected and what we might expect at next year's 20th Festival.
