A smugglers’ fiery border run went up in smoke after a tractor-trailer packed with 39 suspected illegal migrants burst into flames during a wild chase in South Texas. Troopers and Border Patrol agents raced to unlock the trailer and pull the occupants to safety before it was engulfed, in what officials called a reminder of the “dangerous lengths human smugglers will go" to evade capture.
