If you’re a woman, chances are you have dealt with some form of sexual harassment: Studies show most woman have at some point in their lives.
Public Sexual Harassment (PSH) is a form of gender-based violence. Any young person, including young men and boys, can experience it, but current research suggests that PSH disproportionately affects women and girls. Harassment comes in many forms – from unwanted sexual comments or jokes to being followed or grabbed.
This has a big impact on women’s lives as it often restricts their freedom. Many avoid certain places, rush home before it gets dark, or even clutch their keys between their fingers as a makeshift weapon.
