Forensic psychologist Dr Michael Bourke has interviewed thousands of paedophiles.
He found these predators have multiple different motivational pathways for offending and are often hiding in plain sight.
Dr Bourke told Four Corners reporter Adele Ferguson that the rates of child sexual abuse are much higher than what is reported.
