It has emerged that the alleged gunmen in the Bondi Beach shooting began their attack by throwing four explosive devices at a crowd celebrating Hanukkah.

Police describe them as three pipe bombs and a tennis ball bomb, all of which failed to explode. New court documents say the father and son had practiced shooting weeks before, and spent months "meticulously" planning the attack, which killed 15 people.
