Data at the Foreign Office has been hacked, but the government has said it is "pretty confident" that visa applicants' details have not been compromised.

There are reports that the group Storm 1849 was responsible.
The Chinese organisation was named publicly in March 2024 in connection with cyber attacks on MPs and the Electoral Commission.
