Edo and Tokyo: Built, Inhabited, and Represented
While continuities exist between the modern metropolis of Tokyo and Edo, its early-modern antecedent, the ways in which each city was built, inhabited, and represented reflect radially divergent political projects and social formations. Consider the distance separating the two cities by using the visual record of both Edo and Tokyo.
