Uvalde Officer Stood By as Shooting Began, Prosecutors Claim
The trial of former Uvalde school district police officer Adrian Gonzales opened with prosecutors alleging he criminally failed to act during the 2022 Robb Elementary shooting that killed 19 students and two teachers. Gonzales, one of the first officers on scene, is accused of not intervening as nearly 400 officers waited 77 minutes before confronting the gunman, while children and teachers inside the classroom made repeated 911 calls for help.
