
Government to raise inheritance tax threshold after farmers’ backlash
The government is to water-down its controversial inheritance tax measures for farms which had sparked months of protests.

Farmers were going to be charged 20 per cent on agricultural assets worth more than a million pounds from April 2026.
But that threshold is being raised to £2.5m.
