A good stylized art study needs to capture the subtle rhythms that the character designers built into the models. I’m using selections to mask out the shapes, and then soft touches (using pen pressure) on a linear dodge layer to paint them. The masking helps ensure the sharp graphic quality is maintained, while the brushwork helps establish subtlety. Very effective art process!
