The United States has claimed it has killed several Islamic State militants in airstrikes in northern Nigeria.

President Trump said he had ordered the strikes on Christmas Day, in response to the killing of Christians in the country. But Nigeria's foreign minister said it wasn't linked to any particular religion and described it as a "joint operation".
