Artist Marwan Rechmaoui on the dark history of a Beirut building | Tate
Rechmaoui introduces the Burj El Murr building in Beirut, Lebanon. Intended as an office block, it was never finished and only ever used as a sniper outpost during the civil war. Rechmaoui created a scale model of the skyscraper as a kind of memorial, entitled Monument for the Living.
